Responsibilities Tasks Load, unload and transport construction materials Operate mobile cranes and tower cranes to lift, move and position equipment and materials Perform pre-operational inspection Clean and lubricate cranes Assemble and disassemble concrete formwork, scaffolding, access ramps, shoring walkways and barriers Operate pile driving hammers to drive piles into the ground that will support buildings and other structures Teach the trade to apprentices Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt Assemble mobile cranes on site Assist the coroner in charge Assist in aligning pipes during the construction of oil pipelines or gas pipelines Assist with drilling and blasting rock on construction sites Assist in assembling house frames, erecting walls and building roofs Operate drilling platform cranes to unload and reload supply ships Level earth according to fine grading specifications Asphalt and scrape asphalt Assist with building demolition work Remove rubble and other debris on construction sites
