Responsibilities Tasks
- Collect and analyze data on factors affecting land use
- Design various land concepts
- Recommend zoning, subdivision, transportation, utilities, community facilities, parks, agriculture and other land use plans
- Supervise and coordinate the work of urban planning technicians and technologists
- Consult with competent authorities and interest groups to develop land use and development plans or community use plans
- Prepare development plans to protect the environment
- Present plans to civil, rural and regional authorities and hold public meetings
- Review and evaluate proposals for land use and subdivision plan proposals and prepare recommendations
- Evaluate development permit applications
- Administer planning and zoning regulations
- Establish long-term objectives and policies for land use and environmental protection
- Conduct research
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
