Responsibilities Tasks Load and unload merchandise Operate trucks or tractor-trailer units to transport goods or materials Adjust brakes Inspect trucks before, during and after trips and monitor all aspects of vehicles Perform preventive maintenance Receive and transmit information to central dispatcher Record information on cargo, hours of service, distances traveled and fuel consumption Secure and ensure safety and security of cargo Qualifications Credentials (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Driver's license (Class 1 or A) Experience and Specialization Documentary knowledge Driver's logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en route and post-trip) Type of trucking and equipment Dump truck Experience in transportation/movement Local Short distance Additional Information Working conditions and physical capabilities Repetitive tasks Sedentary work Interpersonal skills Effective interpersonal relations Flexibility Reliable Teamwork
